The Post Closing Specialist is responsible for resolving routine and complex post-closing escalations in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate loan-level changes while ensuring adherence to investor and agency guidelines. This role requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to build collaborative cross-functional relationships, and communicates clearly and professionally and exhibits a strong sense of ownership.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Post-Funding Loan Modifications
- Review and process post-funding loan modification requests, including removal of creditor payoffs and resolution of short-funding issues.
- Facilitate the re-approval process, including running DU/LPA as needed and validating guideline compliance (GSE, FHA, VA).
- Collaborate with internal departments to evaluate risk and impact of requested changes.
- Ensure all loan-level changes are thoroughly documented, including rationale, approvals obtained, and final resolution.
- Respond to escalations within expected service level agreements while maintaining accuracy and compliance standards.
- Post-Funding Refunds & Title Coordination
- Partner with title companies to manage and direct post-funding refunds.
- Determine how to administer post-funding refunds.
- Ensure accurate documentation and processing of all refund transactions. - Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding status and resolution.
- Departmental Coverage & Support
- Provide cross-functional coverage within the Post Close department.
- Support departmental workflow to ensure service levels and maintained.
- 4-6 years relevant Mortgage experience
- Manage time, prioritize competing tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience running Loan Product Advisor (LPA) and Desktop Underwriter (DU), along with a strong understanding of GSE, FHA, and VA guidelines, is required.
- Prior experience in loan processing, underwriting, or post-closing operations is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet rigorous deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to work independently and support a team atmosphere.
- Proficiency with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Encompass experience a plus.
- Professional demeanor and attire
Compensation: $27.07 - $34.23/hour
