Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee a team of MIG and TIG welders, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor daily operations by inspecting welds, materials, and equipment, and verifying that welding parameters aligned with engineering drawings and production requirements.
• Utilize strong problem-solving skills to design and implement fixtures, jigs, and process improvements that enhance efficiency and resolve welding challenges.
• Support and optimize production processes to consistently meet or exceed output goals.
• Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure the availability of materials, tools, and equipment needed for uninterrupted production.
• Communicate effectively with the Production Manager regarding team performance, equipment functionality, workflow issues, and process improvements.
• Maintain a strong understanding of sheet metal welding (mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum), including thin gauge through -inch materials, and interpret welding blueprints accurately.
• Exposure to robotic welding systems (Motoman/Yaskawa) is preferred; willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is essential.

Required Experience:

• Experience supervising 4+ welders in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Should be able to sufficiently speak, read, and write English with a legible penmanship. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Must be energetic and a self-starter, able to promote and implement change, have good computer literacy (email, Microsoft Office), strong organizational skills, and ability to promote a continuous improvement atmosphere. Basic knowledge of SolidWorks to retrieve dimensions and develop fixturing is a plus!
• Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, have good team building skills, excellent people skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and understand all aspects of the department (MIG, TIG, Robots, grinding, etc.)
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols and have a working knowledge of sheet metal gauges and alloys.
• Deep understanding of various welding techniques and equipment.
• Welding: 6 years (Required)
• Supervisory: 3 years (Required)
• AWS (American Welding Society) Certification (Required)
