Material Handler / Driver in Flowery Branch, Georgia at Bitzer US Inc

Summary (Position Description): The Pressure Vessel Driver/Material Handler is responsible for safely transporting material and other goods from our facility to a business address following a specific route in a timely manner.

Status: Full time, Nonexempt

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Duties & Tasks:

· Following all traffic laws, DOT regulations and best practices for safety when delivering items

· Communicating with other team members to make deliveries.

· Meeting delivery deadlines and following assigned delivery routes.

· Performing basic truck maintenance, such as refueling, doing visual inspections, and reporting potential issues

· Preparing, loading, and unloading the delivery vehicle

· Completing any paperwork related to the deliveries and completing reports as required.

· Using additional equipment, such as forklifts, hand trucks and dollies, as needed

· Any other duties assigned by Production Manger

· Effective communication with departments within the Pressure Vessel Team

· Clear analytical thinking and ability to solve issues efficiently

Requirements:

· Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Must be able to obtain DOT certification.

· Proficient on a standup and sit-down forklift.

Work Environment:

· This job is performed in a manufacturing environment. Travel is required while making deliveries requiring a valid driver license. Ability to safely commute in all external environmental conditions. You are required to wear PPE at all times when on the Manufacturing floor such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.

Physical Demands:

· The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; bend; stoop; use hands; and reach with hands and arms. This position is active and may require kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing to gain access in to the forklifts and/or get into the work vehicle to make deliveries in a safe and timely manner. While the job is active there will also be times of sitting while driving to make deliveries. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception. This position does require the frequent daily lifting of 50 pounds.
