Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) (Hagerstown)

Position Overview
Talantage is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support clinical operations at our client's correctional facility. ADON provides clinical leadership, staff supervision, and operational support to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services within a correctional environment.

This role works under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and collaborates with medical leadership and multidisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes for incarcerated individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations and staff performance
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to nursing and support staff
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in staff training, education, and performance evaluations
  • Monitor quality of care and implement improvement initiatives
  • Support infection control, medication management, and clinical protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and administrative staff
  • Assist in scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Respond to clinical issues and provide leadership during emergencies
  • Promote a safe, secure, and professional healthcare environment
Qualifications
  • Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in nursing
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Experience in correctional healthcare, behavioral health, or acute care preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and secure environment
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance, including drug screening and background check
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of correctional healthcare standards and regulations
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams
Work Environment

  • Requires adherence to safety and security protocols
  • May involve exposure to high-stress situations
