About This Position
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately-held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.
GMC has an opening for Geotechnical Intern working in the Geotechnical Laboratory in Atlanta, GA to support on-going projects. Primary duties include performing soils and concrete laboratory testing. Some travel may be required.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Laboratory testing of soil and concrete materials, maintaining a clean lab work environment, and assisting professional staff as needed in the laboratory and on project sites
- Traveling to project sites to collect samples for transport back to the laboratory
- Field inspection, sampling & testing of foundations, soils, building materials, etc.
- Providing assistance to other GM&C team members to promote the overall objectives of the company
Minimum Qualifications:
- 0 to 3 years’ relevant experience
- A clean driving record in the past 3 years
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral) are a must

90% Laboratory, 10% Field
