Medical Director, Digital and Everyday Care

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Medical Director, Digital and Everyday Care in United States.

This leadership role sits at the forefront of modern virtual care transformation, combining clinical excellence, digital health innovation, and AI-enabled care delivery. You will help design and scale a next-generation “Everyday Care” model where primary care, telehealth, and asynchronous digital services operate as a unified clinical system. Acting as the clinical dyad partner to operations leadership, you will oversee both patient-facing care quality and the evolution of a human–AI clinical operating model. The role blends hands-on clinical leadership with strategic program building, requiring deep expertise in patient care, digital health workflows, and scalable care delivery systems. You will lead multidisciplinary clinical teams while partnering closely with product, engineering, and operations stakeholders. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how accessible, continuous care is delivered to large patient populations through technology and clinical innovation.

Accountabilities:
  • Co-lead the Everyday Care program, aligning clinical operations with strategic and organizational goals while ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Design, oversee, and continuously improve clinical protocols for digital and centralized services, including medication management, diagnostics, referrals, and care coordination.
  • Lead and manage a team of Nurse Practitioners delivering virtual care and digital visit escalation support.
  • Serve as clinical escalation authority for complex cases arising from telehealth, digital chat, and AI-enabled triage systems.
  • Partner with AI, product, and engineering teams to design and refine human–AI clinical workflows, escalation pathways, and decision support tools.
  • Monitor and improve clinical quality, safety metrics, and patient outcomes across digital care services.
  • Review adverse events and safety reports, driving initiatives to reduce clinical risk in automated and virtual care environments.
  • Provide direct patient care through digital channels while ensuring consistent clinical excellence across the care model.
  • Support documentation quality, triage accuracy, and process scalability to improve system-wide performance.
  • Contribute to the long-term vision and expansion of AI-enabled digital care services.

Requirements:

  • Board-certified physician in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (or equivalent), with 5+ years of clinical practice experience.
  • Proven experience leading clinicians (NPs, PAs, or physicians) in a fast-paced clinical or virtual care environment.
  • Demonstrated success in building, scaling, or transforming clinical programs (including “0→1” initiatives).
  • Strong understanding of virtual care delivery models, digital health systems, or population-based care (Medicare experience preferred).
  • Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and data teams to translate clinical needs into technical requirements.
  • Deep interest in AI/LLM applications in healthcare and willingness to design human–technology clinical workflows.
  • Strong clinical judgment combined with operational and systems-thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to lead in ambiguous, fast-changing environments while maintaining focus on quality and safety.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative, mission-driven mindset.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary range: $265,000 – $320,000 per year
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with low or no employee premiums
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays
  • $100 monthly mobile or internet stipend
  • Stock options for all employees
  • 401(k) retirement savings program
  • Parental leave program
  • Bonus or commission eligibility depending on role structure
  • Inclusive, mission-driven culture focused on healthcare equity and innovation
  • Opportunity to shape next-generation digital and AI-enabled healthcare delivery.
