Position Summary: There is currently a need for one (1) Maintenance Technician at the Jefferson Terminal in Beaumont, TX. This is a full-time, Non-Exempt position, and work hours are a 4/10hr day shift rotation, with some overtime required. The purpose of the Maintenance Technician position is to provide day to day maintenance support for the Jefferson terminal and includes repairing and maintaining pipeline equipment and ensuring the safe operation of DOT-regulated liquid facilities and pipelines. This position will work independently, and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, routine/non-routine maintenance tasks, as well as any other duties assigned.
This position may be required to interface directly with managers, vendors, technical engineers, other Maintenance Technicians, operators, and outside contractors. The organization is structured to operate as a self-sufficient, stand-alone facility. It is expected that all employees who work at this facility exercise a great deal of flexibility in their work to help facilitate the success of the business. It is expected that employees will cooperate and assist in their own development through cross-training and job experience.
Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspection, and service, on various piping systems and equipment.
- Perform all job duties in accordance with all Safety, Health and Environmental standards and policies.
- Rigging, lifting, installation, removal, and movement of elevated and/or difficult to reach heavy vessel and machinery components.
- Be available for on-call support for unplanned and incidental needs.
- Be a member of the Jefferson Emergency Response Team, to include firefighting, rescue, Hazmat, and first aid.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/ Experience/Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years of age, and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and background check, as well as random DOT drug testing.
- Possess or can obtain a valid TWIC card within 30 days.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to operate hand, power, and precision maintenance tools.
- Ability to set up and operate maintenance shop & field equipment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and replacement parts, gained through education or several years practical field experience.
- Ability to read and interpret original equipment manufacturer manuals, blueprints, layouts, and other drawings.
- Working knowledge of plant installations and specifications.
- Experience in accepted industry procedures.
- Must have a strong level of initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
- Must have the ability to problem solve, take ownership, and accept accountability.
- Ability to secure and maintain qualifications to safely and efficiently operate all support equipment required in the performance of daily duties (forklift, crane, hoist, heavy truck, backhoe, boom lift, scissor lift, etc.)
- Competently familiar with Company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- A safety, quality, and detail-oriented mindset, with good organizational skills and self-motivated.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Perform physical labor in a variety of extreme climatic conditions including walking, bending, stooping, climbing tanks, digging, lifting and general manual labor.
- Must be able to lift / carry 50 lbs.
- Must wear required PPE, which includes Respiratory protection
