About the role
- Full-time (24 credit load), tenure-track position in the Department of Psychological Sciences, including teaching, research, mentoring of undergraduate students, and service to the university.
What you'll do
- Teach some combination of the following courses: Principles of Counseling, Forensic Psychology, Psychological Assessment, Introduction to Psychology, Psychological Statistics, Research Methods, Internship, Senior Seminar, or any of the courses in our psychological trauma minor, or others, depending on department needs and the specialty of the candidate.
- Mentor and advise student research projects
- Advise undergraduate students regarding their academic plans and career
- Collaborate in departmental programming
- Serve on a university committee(s) as assigned
- Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline
Qualifications
Skills:
- Ability to teach Principles of Counseling or Forensic Psychology, in addition to other courses that reflect the candidate’s specialty or the needs of the department.
- Ability to engage with and mentor students
- Demonstrated research plan and commitment to involving students in research projects
- Commitment to exploring possible connections between psychology and the Christian Faith
- Understanding of and commitment to Bethel’s efforts to develop as an inclusively excellent university community
Experience:
- Teaching and research experience preferred
Education:
- Ph.D., Psy.D., or ABD in Psychology or related field

CompensationWe are open to hiring an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor for this position. The range for an Assistant Professor is $55,599 - $70,043, Associate Professor is $62,927 - $84,168 and Full Professor is $77,265 - $95,904. Salary and rank determined by education and experience.
