About This Position

Facility Technician

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Facilities Technician supports the daily operations, maintenance, and overall functionality of the workplace. This role ensures a clean, safe, and well‑organized environment for employees and visitors by performing routine facilities tasks, responding to service requests, assisting with space management, and supporting safety and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, customer‑focused, and able to troubleshoot a wide range of facility‑related issues.

POSITION DUTIES:

Facilities Operations

  • Monitor office and common areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper functionality.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks, including adjusting furniture, fixing minor office equipment, and completing small repairs.
  • Install wall‑mounted items such as whiteboards, TVs, signage, and posters.
  • Patch and paint walls to maintain a professional and well‑kept workspace.

Employee Support & Work Orders

  • Respond promptly to daily minor requests and urgent (“hot”) issues.
  • Provide friendly, customer‑focused assistance to employees and visitors.
  • Communicate updates on repairs, work order status, and workspace changes.
  • Complete all assigned work orders in coordination with the Facilities Lead.

Space Management & Moves

  • Assist with office moves, workstation setups, and furniture assembly.
  • Support move‑ins, move‑outs, and event or room setups.
  • Move heavy furniture and equipment across the campus as needed.

Safety & Compliance

  • Participate in team safety meetings and help create Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Assist with workplace safety inspections and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Escort contractors on‑site and verify that work meets quality and safety standards.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Track, order, and restock facility‑related materials, tools, and safety supplies.
  • Maintain accurate logs for inventory, equipment, tools, and deliveries.

Troubleshooting

  • Perform basic troubleshooting for furniture, office equipment, and IT assets before escalating to specialized teams.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Experience in facilities, maintenance, operations, or a related field
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items as part of daily tasks
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, equipment, and general repair techniques
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Preferred:

  • Experience in corporate or campus‑style environments
  • Familiarity with work order systems or ticketing platforms
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Will spend approximately 10% in a manufacturing environment and 90% of time in an office. Some travel may be required.


Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm, with occasional OT on Saturdays and/or Sundays
