About This Position
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting products and materials to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining product integrity, identifying defects, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products for quality and compliance
Measure products using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring tapes
Compare inspection results against specifications, drawings, and quality standards
Document inspection findings and maintain accurate quality records
Identify defects, nonconformances, and potential root causes
Communicate quality issues to production and management teams
Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Follow safety guidelines and quality system requirements (e.g., ISO, GMP, FDA, as applicable)
Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training preferred
1–3 years of experience in quality control or manufacturing (industry-specific experience a plus)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Familiarity with quality inspection tools and measurement techniques
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Basic computer skills (Excel, quality management systems)
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or other quality standards
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and follow procedures consistently
Knowledge of inspecting parts using GD&T to meet drawing requirements, using tools like CMMs, calipers, and micrometers.
Working Conditions
Manufacturing or production environment
May require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
