Responsibilities:

• As Controller, you will oversee the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements, project ? level forecasts, and cash flow projections. This role plays a critical part in managing and collaborating with outsourced accounting teams, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and operational excellence across all accounting functions.
• You will be responsible for core construction accounting activities, including job costing, work ? in ? progress (WIP) schedules, progress billings, and percentage ? of ? completion revenue recognition. Leveraging modern construction ERP systems and financial software, you will help streamline processes, improve reporting efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
• Working closely with the VP of Finance and CFO, you will support strategic planning initiatives and contribute to the companys overall financial health. This is a hands ? on, technology ? forward role based in our Fort Lauderdale headquarters, ideal for a fast learner who is highly comfortable working in modern, dynamic accounting environments.
• Additionally, you will oversee outsourced accounting resources across development and construction operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reliable projections, and adherence to standard general contracting accounting practices.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• The ideal candidate brings 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, qualified Assistant Controllers with strong general contracting backgrounds can apply.
• Must have direct experience working for a General Contractor with annual revenue between $50M and $200M, rather than supporting subcontractors.
• Proficiency with modern construction accounting platforms such as Sage, Viewpoint, or Procore is required, along with advanced Excel skills.
