This role sits at the center of the student financial journey, ensuring learners have the guidance and resources they need to fund their education successfully from enrollment through graduation. You will lead a dedicated financial services team while shaping a high-quality, student-centered support experience across financial aid, veteran affairs, loans, and payments. The position blends operational leadership with strategic collaboration, requiring close partnership with admissions, student services, IT, and academic stakeholders. You will play a key role in improving systems, processes, and service delivery to enhance efficiency and student satisfaction. With a strong focus on metrics and continuous improvement, you will help define how financial services contribute to overall student success. This is a highly collaborative, mission-driven environment where leadership directly impacts access to education and student outcomes.
- Lead and develop the Student Financial Services team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and fostering a high-performance, service-oriented culture
- Oversee all financial support operations, including financial aid, veteran benefits, alternative loans, international payments, and cash transactions
- Establish and monitor KPIs, production metrics, and service quality indicators to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Partner with Admissions to support incoming students and ensure a smooth financial onboarding experience
- Collaborate with Student Services to support ongoing student financial needs throughout their academic journey
- Work cross-functionally with IT to improve systems, workflows, and operational efficiency
- Contribute to institutional committees to align financial services with academic and organizational priorities
- Ensure timely, accurate, and student-focused communication across all financial services touchpoints
- Strong background in Financial Aid, Student Financial Services, or a closely related higher education financial operations environment
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams, with a focus on coaching, delegation, and performance improvement
- Experience designing, tracking, and using performance metrics and KPIs to drive operational effectiveness
- Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and influence stakeholders in a matrix environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a student-first, service-oriented mindset
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategy and day-to-day operational execution
- Experience in process improvement and enhancing service delivery systems
