Ambulance Attendant at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

A National Registry EMT - Basic who attends patients transported by the Willis Knighton Ambulance service. Works cooperatively with other transport team members, and demonstrates good public relations skills in dealing with physicians, nurses, hospitals, and referral agencies. Maintains professional behavior and represents Willis Knighton in a positive manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Collaborates daily with medical staff and agencies both inside and outside the hospital to coordinate the safe and effective transport of patients.
• Interacts closely with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• Current National and State Registry at EMT-Basic level.
• Minimum of one year basic EMT experience.
• Current BCLS.
• Heavy lifting and transporting of patients.
• Frequent exposure to contagious entities.
• Environmental hazards.
• Potential hazards of riding in an ambulance.
• Exposure to all extremes of weather conditions.
