Help New Mexico (HELPNM) was created in 1965 by the interdenominational New Mexico Council of Churches to support education in their community. Today, their legacy and impact carry on through HELPNM’s work as a fully-owned subsidiary of CPLC. The Office of Learning and Academic Opportunity (OLAO) provides services to children and families from birth to eight years of age. Our priority is to provide general services related to families in the areas of education, health and social/behavioral development. OLAO also provides an intentional, coordinated approach to strengthening the family unit and combines programming for children and adults in order to build strong and stable families.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

  • You will plan, coordinate and monitor the delivery of Education Services to children per NM PreK Program Standards, Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and ECD Content Area Plans & Procedures for CPLC statewide ECD programs.
  • You will work closely with the following positions: Vice President Early Childhood Development, Regional Program Director, Mental Health & Disabilities Coordinator, other Content Area Coordinators (CAC) and Managers to collaboratively plan cross-content integrated service within the classroom and throughout the program.
  • You will promote school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position.
  • You will actively supervise children by sight and sound and in all environments.
  • You will maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment.
  • You will facilitate health practices to keep children safe in outdoor and indoor environments.

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provides direct supervision/guidance to the Instructional Coaches.

    SPECIALIZATIONS

      Experience providing adult training/supervision and working with culturally diverse low-income families is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development and/or HSPPS and Head Start Act.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

    Education/Background:

      Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education and 5 years’ experience in an early childhood setting. Initial TB test or Chest X-ray clearance Valid New Mexico Driver's License in good standing and vehicle insurance are required. Must pass ECECD New Mexico Background Check required by the Office of Head Start and state licensing if applicable. Must be First Aid and CPR certified or obtain certification within the first 6 months of employment.
    Preferred qualifications:

      Certification in Infant Toddler early care and education Certification in English Language Learners and/or Special Education. Experience in utilization and analysis of SmartTeach systems. Bilingual Spanish/English.
    Other Requirements

    Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and especially Microsoft teams).
  • Proven supervisory and effective leadership skills.
  • Excellent documentation and clinical skills.
  • Proven ability to follow up and meet deadlines.
