Vehicle Acquisition Specialist

Description

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist is responsible for purchasing vehicles to add to the store’s Pre-Owned Inventory. You will work closely with the Used Car Managers, Service Department, Business Development Center and Marketing to purchase vehicles for the dealership from the customers in the Service Department. You will talk to customers in service to offer and complete hands-on, hassle-free appraisals of their vehicles, and present numbers based on market value and vehicle condition. Once the appraisal is completed and the customer agrees to the price, you will complete all necessary paperwork with the customer to purchase the vehicle.

Responsibilities include

- Daily use of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to enter customer and vehicle information, any important notes from the customer interaction, maintain a follow up schedule with customers, and retain customers for future business

- Download and review a list of all appointments weekly and daily to ensure new appointments made are not missed

- Introduce yourself to customers coming in for service and offer an appraisal of their vehicle while we have it

- Work with Used Car Managers to maintain knowledge of current market standards and pricing of pre-owned vehicles and to generate a monthly list of “must-have” vehicles

- Work with Service Advisors to gain insight on the condition of vehicles coming in for service to better prepare yourself for approaching the customer about an appraisal

- Help the customers understand the potential benefits of selling their vehicle to a dealership vs private

- Work with the Business Development Center and Marketing for customer retention, manifest lists, appointment and customer information, and generating enticing offers and specials

- Pass customers over to the Sales Team if they are interested in purchasing a new vehicle

- Use Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and other 3rd party websites to find vehicles for purchase

- Make outbound text, calls, and emails to previous customers to thank them for their business and offer to appraise and purchase their vehicle

- Maintain a spreadsheet of purchases

- Other duties as assigned

Requirements

- Dress comfortably and professionally. You will be in and out of, underneath, and test driving vehicles. It is important to wear comfortable attire to perform your daily duties while also maintaining a professional look

- Schedule adherence. This is a full-time position.

Must have prior customer service experience

Hours

- Monday-Friday between 8am-5:30pm.
