Summary: This position will provide prompt, friendly, courteous and helpful service and assistance to customers at the check stand, bagging groceries, providing carryout service of customer’s purchases and in other area of the store as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must be able to work variable shifts
• Performs duties in a safe and efficient manner consistent with store safety policies and procedures.
• Bags customer’s purchases in accordance with store procedures.
• Handles groceries with extreme care, separates like items.
• Sorts and returns items to their proper locations giving priority to refrigerated and perishable items.
• Performs price checks as needed.
• Collects shopping carts from parking lot and surrounding areas. Take care of trash in carts. Keep carts organized inside vestibule.
• Assist with cleanup of spills, breakages and other maintenance duties as assigned
• Retrieves items that customer are unable to reach, lift or find
• Keep parking lot and front of store free from debris.
• Maintains an organized and clean work area.
• Keep vestibule swept and/or mopped. Take care of trash cans at front of store
• Performs other duties as assigned by the head checker or other management personnel.
• Provides light supervision and training of other associates when assigned.
• Meets the physical requirement to perform the job functions listed above.
