About This Position
The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. WSFSSH is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE)Job Description: Per Diem Program Aide. This position is Per-Diem/As-Needed for coverage only. There are no guaranteed hours. Multi-Site Support Employees are called upon to cover for permanently employed staff on leave or at times of specific need. Given the somewhat unpredictable nature of staff leave, a Multi-Site Support person’s schedule can be irregular and may involve last-minute requests for coverage. Personal Care Program Aide is responsible for providing ADL (assisted daily living) care for disabled building residents. They will assist with monitoring the disabled resident’s health condition, medication and other treatments as prescribed by their attending physician or other health care professionals. They will also assist with the patients' daily activities such as bathing, feeding, and sleeping.Responsibilities

- Supervise the personal hygiene and physical well-being of the residentsAssist residents as needed in activities of daily living, including: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, walking, and other personal care needsMonitor to assure that residents are eating meals regularly each dayAssist residents in using the dining room, participating in activity programs, and joining in the life of the residenceEscort residents to medical and other appointments as directed, including visiting residents who are in hospitalAssist kitchen staff as needed in meal preparation, serving, and clean upAssist housekeeper/porter as assigned, including participating in recycling activities and laundryTravel for errands to stores, clinics, and offices as directedMonitor the safety and security of the building and residents by staffing the front desk, including: Interacting with residents in cordial, respectful way, spending time with them and assessing their individual needsScreening visitorsMonitoring any alarm and security systemsAnswering phone callsWork as a member of a team to establish and maintain high level of care and respect for the resident communityWork cooperatively with other staff membersActively communicate any issues or concerns to his/her supervisorReport information about resident progress, needs, and problems with other staffAttend training sessions and conferences as required for enhancement of job skillsImplement emergency procedures as necessarySubmit all required reports in a complete and timely mannerAssist with other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. Higher education preferredAble to work in a multicultural and diverse environmentAble to perform job responsibilitiesAble to speak, read, and write English (as required by DSS regulation 487.9.13)Experience working with dependent persons
