Basic Position Description:
This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of various school buildings and/or dormitories in a manner meeting the health and safety standards and strategic appearance standards of the institution. This position requires standing, sitting, walking, lifting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, talking, hearing, reading directions, learning, problem-solving, and interacting with others throughout the workday. Regular attendance is essential.
Essential Job Functions:
- Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, shampoo/spot clean carpets, clean windows, office space, dormitories, and other assigned rooms;
- Clean, mop, scrub, polish, and disinfect showers, stalls, toilets, sinks, faucets, etc.;
- Follow appropriate and safe chemical use when cleaning;
- Maintain a sufficient supply of materials (e.g. tissue, soap, etc.) in assigned areas;
- Empty trash and garbage containers in assigned areas;
- Complete assigned duties in a timely manner.
Other Responsibilities:
- Generate work orders for needed repairs
- Complete minor repairs if possible (change lightbulbs, tighten screws, maintain vacuums, etc)
- Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:Requirement:
Position requires wearing of a uniform (provided), protective gloves (provided), 'full' shoes and socks (must provide for self; no sandals or open-toed/heeled shoes).
Position requires a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record and personal means of reliable transportation to various buildings on campus, with proof of vehicle insurance.
Applicants must be available when needed (i.e., Family Weekends, prep for Summer Programs, prep for school year opening, etc) and able to work overtime when necessary.
