Floor Tech Supervisor Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Floor Tech Supervisor oversees a team of floor technicians, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in all floor care operations. This role combines hands-on expertise with leadership, guiding staff in maintaining various flooring types across commercial or healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily floor care operations, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing
- Train and mentor floor tech staff on equipment use, safety protocols, and cleaning techniques
- Schedule and assign tasks to ensure the timely completion of projects
- Inspect work areas for quality assurance and compliance with safety standards
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with facility managers to plan special projects or deep-cleaning schedules
- Ensure proper handling and labeling of chemicals and adherence to PPE guidelines
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests or incidents promptly and professionally
- Able to work hours beyond the normal schedule to complete projects
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in floor care, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in operating floor care equipment (buffers, extractors, auto scrubbers)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment or furniture
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and infection control practices (especially in healthcare settings)
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence
- Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing priorities
- Respectful and professional in interactions with staff and clients
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, with no criminal history
Must have a good driving record w/ proof from DMV
