Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Research Scientist III / Senior Scientist to lead assay development efforts within our Research & Development team. This senior-level scientist will independently drive complex projects from concept through validation, collaborate cross-functionally across departments, and provide mentorship to junior scientists. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for innovation in the fields of LC-MS, Analytical Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Immunology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assay development from conceptual design to full validation in alignment with regulatory standards.
- Independently analyze and interpret complex datasets to support method development and troubleshooting.
- Draft and review technical documentation, including SOPs, validation protocols, and validation reports.
- Troubleshoot analytical challenges and continuously optimize laboratory workflows and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance research goals and ensure project success.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level scientists.
- Stay informed on technological innovations, regulatory changes, and industry best practices through active learning, webinars, and conferences.
- Contribute to a culture of scientific excellence, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support departmental and company-wide objectives.
Education:
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or related field (preferred).
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience:
- PhD with 5–8 years of laboratory experience focused on assay development and validation.
- In the absence of a PhD, a minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience.
- At least 1–2 years of leadership experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced expertise in LC-MS, Analytical Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Immunology techniques.
- Proven ability to lead assay development projects from concept through validation.
- Experience working in a high-complexity laboratory setting with proficiency in instrumentation and data analysis tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to optimize experimental workflows.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for LDTs (e.g., CLIA, CAP, ISO).
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and training junior scientists.
- Ability to design scientifically rigorous experiments and isolate key variables.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional discussions and collaborate effectively.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Physical Requirements
