Position Summary:
Pittsburgh Gastroenterology Associates is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will support physicians and nurses in delivering high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced gastroenterology practice. This is a full-time, in-office position with no weekend or holiday shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake, including recording vital signs and medical history.
Assist physicians with procedures and examinations.
Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and procedures, managing patient records, and handling phone calls.
Prepare patient medical records/chart prep to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately for future office visit appointments
Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas.
Ensure compliance with infection control and HIPAA regulations.
Provide compassionate and professional care to all patients.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred but not required.
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is a plus but not required.
Previous experience in a medical office setting, especially in gastroenterology, is preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer applications.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, No weekends or holidays required
