Infection Preventionist 2 at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

The Infection Preventionist 2 acts as an educator and a consultant, assists and supports the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control and the System Director of the Infection Prevention and Control Program, participates in Quality Improvement projects, assists to implement techniques designed to improve patient care through measures that prevent infection, and makes decisions relating to Infection Prevention and Control Practice based on Willis-Knighton Health Infection Control Policy in the prevention or management of infections in the hospital or community setting. This position has a strong emphasis on assessing the facility environment to ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control measures with a priority focus during periods of construction.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
• Strong analytic, communication, and leadership skills
• Proficiency in data analysis and infection surveillance systems
• Participation in continued education programs related to hospital epidemiology
• Infection Control certification is preferred
