Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Site Lead Dentist, performs patient care, treatment planning and referrals.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Perform patient care, treatment planning and referrals for the pediatric and adolescent population (ages 0-18.)
• Provide dental care and services to patients, including examination, radiographs, preventative care, fillings, extractions, restorations, pulp therapy, crowns, and space maintainers
• Coordinate the implementation of dental functions in order to meet patient care needs and industry and agency standards
• Coach and mentor dental assistants at chair side to ensure the application of proper dental techniques and methods.
• Utilize training to appropriately manage behavioral issues based on the patient’s needs including behavioral guidance, stabilization techniques, nitrous oxide, and sedation.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Required:
• A passion for our mission

• A valid license to practice dentistry in California
• Professional Liability Insurance
• Must be available to work some Saturdays
• Must LOVE working with children!
• Current CPR certification, proof of current TB test, Hepatitis Vaccine, and recent physical exam
• Computer literate and have experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Possession of up-to-date CPR certification and completion of yearly OSHA training
• Certificate of completion from a CODA-accredited Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program
Preferred:
• Bilingual (Spanish/English)
• Experience working with children
• Experience with Dentrix and other database programs
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
• Willingness to be trained and have the ability to retain information of the assigned duties and responsibilities listed in this job description
• Strong organizational skills and technical acumen to carry out assigned duties.
• High attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Superior customer service /patient care skills
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with demonstrated dedication to excellence. Personal integrity manifested in a positive and credible image
• Established comfort working with diverse cultures, backgrounds, lifestyles and experiences
