The SUM Operations Manager is instrumental to the success of the national business unit. The SUM Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring operations policies and procedures are adhered to deliver our service in accordance with the proud history of McCarthys Operational Excellence and Client Experience. Position Summary:The Operations Manager is responsible for the execution of Subsurface Utility Mapping (SUM) projects in support of the National business. They are directly responsible for the Safety, Quality, Schedule, and financial state of all SUM projects that are placed in their responsible charge. In addition, they are responsible for Internal McCarthy account management, education, and development of relationships to further national adoption. The Operations Manager shall work with the National Business Development Manager to develop and grow relationships with existing and potential clients, seek out project opportunities, and directly impact the business unit sales goals. In addition, they identify and understand the local market and conditions, and potential new sectors that offer additional opportunities and revenue for our business. They work alongside Mapping Leadership in continued development and alignment of our product deliverables to ensure a positive Client Experience. Key Responsibilities:Business Development
  • Work alongside National Business Development Manager to establish initial contact in potential customer organizations and takes ownership of ongoing interaction with current client and prospective clients to identify project opportunities.
  • Research and analyze target market sectors to identify potential partners and clients.
  • Utilize available Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to record sales contacts and opportunities, and to obtain and retain project and company information for inclusion in marketing and proposal products.
  • Understand the generic strengths and vulnerabilities of major competitors and develop sales strategies to respond effectively.
  • Establish project budgets and proposals.
McCarthy Integration
  • Lead the efforts to stay in front of current and future MCC projects.
  • Work to develop internal McCarthy adoption through education and an exceptional client experience.
  • Stay current on all McCarthy pursuits and awarded projects while proactively reaching out to stay engaged.
  • Support McCarthy project teams as they pursue upcoming construction projects across the country, enhancing their overall proposals and project approaches.
  • Communicate the value of complete Project Lifecycle Integration with McCarthy project teams and external clients.
  • Provide direct support during McCarthys preconstruction, operations, and hand-over phases.
  • Be present with project teams to accelerate integration and awareness of business unit service offerings.
  • Establish project budgets and proposals.
Operations
  • Coordinate with project teams and clients to collect all existing utility record information (Quality Level D) & project survey control.
  • Initiate project setup including CMiC.
  • Manage communication & logistics coordination with owner .
  • Assume responsible charge for assigned SUM projects.
  • Coordinate testhole planning and setup with project teams and clients.
  • Manage and oversee project quality, schedule, financials, and invoicing.
  • Manage deliverable package creation and review.
  • Perform monthly project forecasts to ensure project health.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 Years of experience in utility or civil fields.
  • Strong critical thinking and trouble shooting skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and be able to demonstrate proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment, able to multitask, meet critical deadlines with an eye for accuracy and attention to details.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills with strict attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Time Management skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate and manage project staff.
  • Ability to build relationships and integrate with project teams.
  • Developmentally minded and focused on team growth & development.
  • Knowledgeable in aspects of utility system installations and configurations.
