JOB TITLE: Driver

DEPARTMENT: Operations

SUPERVISOR: Operations Coordinator

General Job Description:

Hours: 7:00am to 8:30am and 2:15pm to 3:30pm

Hours can be split between two candidates, or one candidate can handle both schedules

Transports individuals from their homes to OWC and/or back. Ensures all documentation is done. Transport to OWC job sites. Maintain all trainings

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transportation to and from OWC and the homes of the individuals that we support
• Follow all P&P of agency
• Follow all safety and emergency P&P of agency
• Attend agency trainings
• Maintain appropriate communications with parents/guardians and OWC managers and staff
• Advocate for individuals needs
• Be a team player
• Participate in agency fundraisers and events
• Inform staff or management if there are problems on the vehicle
• Complete and maintain any vehicle documentation on a daily basis
• Complete all vehicle inspections
• Must let OWC know if you receive any infraction on or off the job as it could jeopardize your job
• Report to Op Manager any problems in a timely manner
• It is your responsibility to turn in copies of license, insurance, etc when you receive them
• It is your responsibility to keep track of your trainings are going to expire. Give your supervisor 60 Days’ notice
• You are a mandated reporter
• Participate in OWC fundraisers
• Other duties as they arise
• Maintain mutual respect & professionalism for all co-workers & individual’s daily

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:

• Must possess excellent driving skills
• Must be able to work flexible hours
• Must be able to work as part of a team
• Must have a clean driver’s license and pass a driving background check
• Must have CT driver’s license

KEY COMPETENCIES:

FA/CPR, PMT certification a must, good written and verbal communication skills, excellent driving skills, understanding that all individuals with ID can work in the community if they desire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to carry a minimum of 20 pounds

Must be able to sit for long periods of time
