Job Title: Fitness Equipment Installer and Delivery Driver

Job Description:

This job description is designed to give a clear overview of the Fitness Equipment Installer and Delivery Driver role and highlight the essential duties and qualifications needed. This role requires both the installation and delivery of fitness equipment to clients, ensuring safe transport, proper build and installation of fitness equipment and any other duties assigned. The ideal candidate will have experience in equipment installation, an understanding of fitness machinery, and the ability to drive a straight box truck for deliveries safely and professionally.

This role reports directly to the Director of Operations and will be required to travel within the Midwest to deliver and install equipment for various customers. The primary warehouse is located in Grandview, MO, but most of your time will be spent installing fitness equipment outside of the Kansas City area.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fitness Equipment Delivery:
• Safely drive and operate a box truck to transport fitness equipment to residential and commercial locations.
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, following pre-arranged routes.
• Load and unload fitness equipment with care, ensuring all items are secure and undamaged.
• Communicate with customers to confirm delivery schedules and address any special requests or instructions.
2. Fitness Equipment Installation:
• Unbox and inspect fitness equipment for any damage before installation.
• Assemble and install a variety of fitness equipment (e.g., treadmills, ellipticals, weight machines, etc.) in clients' homes or businesses.
• Ensure all equipment is properly set up, functional, and calibrated according to manufacturer specifications.
• Provide customers with guidance on how to use the equipment safely and efficiently.
3. Customer Service:
• Provide excellent customer service during delivery and installation, maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
• Answer customer questions and address any concerns regarding the equipment or installation process.
4. Maintenance and Equipment Care:
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the box truck, tools, and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of the truck and equipment to ensure everything is in working order.
• Report any issues, damage, or maintenance needs to the appropriate department or manager.
5. Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when handling equipment and driving the box truck.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies during deliveries and driving.
• Use proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injury when handling heavy fitness equipment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (commercial driver's license, not required), but a plus.
• Previous experience in delivering and installing fitness equipment or similar items is a plus.
• Ability to operate a box truck and handle large, bulky items.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble and install fitness equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and its proper use.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and navigate stairs or tight spaces.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to navigate cloud-based mobile device-based applications and use email.

Work Environment:

• The role involves driving, physical labor, and on-site customer interaction.
• Work may require lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
• Flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate delivery schedules.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and ongoing random drug screenings.
