Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering Intern at Engineering Seismology Group Canada Inc. – Kingston, Ontario

Job Description:

Engineering Seismology Group Canada Inc. (ESG Solutions) is seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team for a summer position(May to September). This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge design tools while contributing to meaningful projects.

Job Duties:

• Support senior engineers with the implementation of a new SolidWorks PDM data vault.
• Streamline CAD file management.
• Assist with routine product engineering tasks.
• Contribute to prototyping efforts.

Job Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Successful completion of at least two years of study with a solid academic record.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to support routine product engineering tasks, including implementing design modifications and conducting product testing.
• Participation in laboratory experiments, design projects, or engineering competitions that demonstrate practical application of academic concepts.
• Ability to analyze problems, conduct research, and apply engineering principles to develop solutions.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects concurrently.
• A basic understanding of safety protocols in a laboratory or manufacturing environment is a plus.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Soldering experience
• Previous exposure to electrical schematics
• Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, or LabVIEW is an asset.
