The ACC is a not-for-profit organization established in 1906 that has grown to include 33 backcountry huts and 25 volunteer-run sections across the country. We also organize seasonal programs, such as our annual General Mountaineering Camp, as well as Shadow Lake Lodge and our hostel in Canmore. We have a rich history in Canadian Mountaineering and a dynamic team at the office to manage our diverse portfolios.

JOB OVERVIEW
As Hostel Attendants your role combines responsibilities as Clubhouse Housekeepers and Front Desk Agents. This unique position operates seven days a week from the ACC Hostel, ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for our guests. As Hostel Attendants, you will be responsible for maintaining the hostel's cleanliness, performing regular housekeeping duties, and providing excellent customer service to our hostel guests at our front desk.
IDEAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Positive and engaging personality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment. Time management to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner. Previous travel, hostel, or customer service experience is an asset. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and roll objects up to 75lbs. Fluency in a second language is an asset.RESPONSIBILITIES
Front Desk and Reservations:
Greet and assist hostel guests in a friendly and professional manner. Check-in and check-out guests, creating a seamless arrival and departure experience. Provide information on Hostel facilities, local community, and create reservations for the Canmore hostel. Monitor the hostel email and guest inquiries. Answer phone calls from guests with hostel inquiries. Handle guest complaints and conflict resolution to ensure satisfaction. Making hostel reservations if needed. Daily usage of Teams and our property management system.Housekeeping:
Perform daily housekeeping duties to ensure cleanliness and orderliness of hostel common areas and guest rooms. Change bed linens, clean bathrooms, vacuum, mop, and ensure rooms are ready for guest arrival. Perform housekeeping duties as needed, this may include deep cleans, facility checks. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies as needed and ensure that stock of stored and used in a safe manner.General Responsibilities:
Answer inquiries via phone, email, or in person. Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests. Adapt to any additional duties or responsibilities assigned within the hostel environment. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager.CORE VALUES
