This role reports into SCD, an Ellsworth Corporation company located in Germantown, WI. The ideal candidate would be open to hybrid work in our Germantown facility.

You will design and implement sourcing strategies for assigned goods and materials in partnership with the business. You will also ensure the business has the right product offerings at competitive costs, as well as be responsible for cost saving measures as well as supplier management, selection, and setup. Additionally, you will manage the supply chain for goods and materials to ensure optimal stock levels that adhere to quality and cost standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sourcing of new material and suppliers. Manages/assists the request for proposal process for assigned categories. Evaluates supplier core competencies and costs to ensure the right mix of products.
  • Serves as the primary contact for negotiations on costs, terms and conditions for products.
  • Partner with suppliers, product managers, and sales on new product introduction.
  • Partners with assigned suppliers to develop Annual Strategic Plans, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Cost Out Goals to improve efficiency.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with contacts at suppliers to facilitate prompt resolution of issues (expedites, sales and customer service questions / concerns, customer specifications, product conformity, logistics, etc.).
  • Reviews and adjusts inventory levels for assigned products to provide optimal material availability to ensure minimal scrap.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Biology, or related field

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in Supply Chain, Chemistry, or related field. Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Professional certification in purchasing or supply chain management desired (Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) through the American Purchasing Society (APS) or supply chain certification through the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)

  • Certified Chemical Engineer (CCE) desired
  • Ability to build strong supplier relationships and possess the understanding of the entire supply chain within a commodity.
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment and work independently within standard operating procedures, and relevant industry regulations and standards. Additionally, ability to learn the Adhesive industry and products to provide recommendations for Sourcing and Supplier selection.
  • Effectively communicates the impact of supply disruptions.
  • Continuous Improvement experience desired.
  • Proven negotiating skills.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office applications, ERP, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement experience desired (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Green Belt).
  • Travel- Up to 25%
