The Business Development Intern will support strategic growth initiatives across market research, competitive intelligence, intellectual property analysis, and sales and marketing enablement. This internship is designed for students interested in aerospace commercialization, space markets, and technology strategy, and offers hands-on exposure to real-world business development projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Market & Technology Research
- Conduct market research on lunar and Martian laser technology applications, including commercial, civil, and defense use cases
- Analyze customer segments, market size, growth drivers, and barriers to adoption
- Summarize findings into executive-ready presentations and briefing materials
Competitive & Partnership Intelligence
- Collect and analyze competitive intelligence, including company capabilities, positioning, and recent activity
- Identify potential strategic partners across industry, government, and academia
- Track emerging trends and investment activity in space and laser-related technologies
Intellectual Property (IP) White Space Analysis
- Support IP landscape and white space analysis to identify technology gaps and opportunity areas
- Assist in organizing patent, publication, and competitor data into actionable insights
Marketing & Sales Enablement
- Help modernize marketing and sales materials, including pitch decks, one-pagers, and customer-facing content
- Ensure materials clearly communicate technical value propositions to non-technical audiences
Salesforce Projects
- Support Salesforce CRM projects, including data cleanup, reporting, pipeline tracking, and process improvements
- Assist with developing dashboards or tools to improve business development workflows
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- U.S. Citizen (required due to expected handling of export-controlled and ITAR-regulated information).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information
- Demonstrated interest in aerospace, space exploration, laser technology, or defense markets
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with market research, competitive analysis, or technology commercialization
- Experience with Salesforce or CRM systems
- Experience creating professional presentations or marketing materials
- Basic understanding of intellectual property concepts
Work Environment and Physical Requirements/Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- General office environment, no special physical demands required. Some lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds required
