About the position:
As a Job Developer, you are a compassionate and proactive professional dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to reach their employment goals. Your passion for fostering independence and promoting community integration motivates you to create valuable job opportunities. With strong communication skills, you excel at building positive relationships with both clients and local businesses.
What You'll Do:
Develop Employment Opportunities : Build relationships with local businesses to identify inclusive job opportunities that align with client strengths and interests.
Client-Centered Employment Planning: Work with clients to assess skills, interests, and employment goals. Support job search activities and community integration.
Job Readiness Support: Assist clients with resume development, interview preparation, workplace expectations, and professional skills.
Documentation & Reporting : Complete required service documentation, progress notes, and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Project & Program Support: Participate in additional projects such as workshops, employer outreach, curriculum development, or client training as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Relationship-Building Skills : Ability to connect with clients, employers, and community partners.
Strong Communication Skills : Comfort working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and supporting varying communication styles.
Tech-Savvy & Organized : Comfort using technology including email, Google Calendar, and learning various applications such as Slack, Asana, or similar platforms. Ability to manage schedules, track tasks, and complete documentation.
Professionalism & Coaching Mindset : Ability to model workplace professionalism and support clients in developing workplace readiness skills.
Adaptability : Comfort working in a flexible, client-driven environment where schedules and priorities may shift.
Experience (Preferred) : Background in job development, recruiting, employment services, education, social services, or related fields preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is helpful but not required.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree in Social Services, Business, or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must pass a post offer pre-employment background check, non-arduous physical, drug/TB screen
Ability to travel locally to meet with clients, partners, or attend events, if applicable.
Ability to work in various environments, including office and community settings.
Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs), standing, walking, or assisting individuals with mobility needs, if applicable.
Work environment may include exposure to pet allergens. The Arc maintains a pet-friendly culture, and animals (such as the office cat) may occasionally be present in the workplace. Employees may also encounter pet allergens through donated items or community environments.
