About This Position

Job Title: Clinical Support Worker I & II (Bachelor’s Level – Non-Licensed Support Role)

Work Location: in-office position

As a Clinical Support Worker, you will serve as a vital operations partner within our community-

based mental health program, keeping services authorized, documentation compliant, and

client care moving forward without interruption. In this role, you will manage prior

authorizations and concurrent reviews within required timelines, track approval statuses to

prevent service gaps, and communicate effectively with insurance providers and Care

Management Organizations to ensure continuity of care. You will support documentation

compliance by reviewing records for completeness, identifying deficiencies, preparing files for

audits, and maintaining organized tracking systems for treatment plans and authorization

deadlines. Working closely with licensed clinicians, you will assist with client assignment,

monitor treatment plan updates, enter and maintain accurate data in electronic health records,

and help coordinate discharge processes and non-clinical care transitions. You will also

contribute to utilization review and quality improvement initiatives by compiling data and

supporting productivity tracking. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to

detail, professional communication, and strict adherence to HIPAA and agency policies. If you

Authorizations & Service Continuity

1. Complete and submit prior authorizations and concurrent reviews for assigned services

within required timelines.

2. Track authorization status and notify clinical staff of approvals, denials, and upcoming

expirations to prevent service gaps.

3. Communicate with insurance providers and Care Management Organizations (CMOs)

regarding status updates and required documentation.

4. Assist in resolving billing and documentation errors related to authorizations as directed

by supervisors.

Documentation & Compliance Support

5. Review client records for completeness of required documentation (signatures, dates,

required forms, missing elements).

6. Notify clinicians and supervisors of documentation deficiencies and required

corrections.

7. Prepare files for internal, state, and federal audits under supervision.

8. Maintain organized tracking systems for authorizations, treatment plan due dates, and

required documentation timelines.

Treatment Plan Coordination

9. Assign clients to open therapist and paraprofessionals

10. Monitor treatment plan due dates and notify clinicians when updates are required.

11. Assist in updating goals and objectives in the electronic health record as directed by

licensed clinical staff.

12. Ensure required documentation is uploaded and filed accurately in the client record.

Data Collection & Administrative Support

12. Gather required demographic and non-clinical information from clients and collateral

sources as requested.

13. Enter and maintain accurate data in electronic health records and tracking systems.

14. Support productivity tracking by compiling data for supervisory review.

Discharge & Care Coordination Support

15. Assist with coordinating discharge paperwork and required documentation.

16. Support case transitions as directed by the clinical team (non-clinical coordination only).

Quality Improvement Participation

17. Participate in utilization review and quality improvement meetings as requested.

18. Assist with data collection and tracking for quality improvement initiatives.

Professional Expectations

19. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and agency policies.

20. Communicate professionally and promptly with staff and external partners.

21. Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of role.
