About This Position
The Lincoln County Health and Human Services Department is looking for a Medical Biller 2 for their team. This person will review medical claims, prior and subsequent to billing, to ensure accuracy and facilitate reimbursements. This position is also responsible for applying bookkeeping methods to a variety of recording and auditing functions.
This is a remote position with the occasional requirement to work in-person in Newport, Or.
Remote worker must live within the State of Oregon.
$25.32 - $29.36 per hour*

EDUCATION
Associates degree in a relevant field and/or Coder a Biller certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
EXPERIENCE
Two- Three years' experience in medical office work which includes fiscal record keeping, billing, and claim submission; including or supplemented by courses in medical billing.
Certifications:
Coder or Biller through AAPC or AHIMA
*If certified as a Coder or Biller, the employee is required to maintain current and active certification, and to provide the appropriate verifications at the time of renewals.
Desirable Qualifications:
Bilingual and/or bicultural competencies for the Latino population preferred. Federally Qualified Health Center or Rural Health Center experience preferred.
Knowledge of/Ability to:
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Office methods and procedure.
- Familiarity with the use of standard office machines.
- Perform detailed work involving written or numerical data and to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately.
