Medical Assisting Cohort at St. Claire Regional Medical Center – Morehead, Kentucky

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Medical Assisting Cohort. This program integrates online and in-person learning to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to attain their medical assisting certification and begin a career with UK St. Claire!

The Certified Medical Assistant performs clinical and clerical duties under the guidance of the Clinic Manager and Licensed Medical Professional to ensure optimal patient care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Execute all point-of-care related skills, including phlebotomy, specimen preparation, and in-clinic lab testing.
• Conduct clinical procedures within certification guidelines and as assigned.
• Administer medications with precision.
• Accurately transcribe orders and address the learning needs of patients and families.
• Manage scheduling for referrals, consult appointments, admissions, and outpatient diagnostic testing.
• Maintain organized clinical areas for effective patient care.
• Communicate and uphold accurate schedules.
• Manage medical records following established policies and procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
