Diesel Technician at Schneider – Edwardsville, Illinois

Location: Edwardsville, IL, USA

Shift: 2nd Shift

Schedule: FULLTIME; Monday-Wednesday and every other weekend, 3:00 p.m.-1:30 a.m.

Job overview:

• Further develop your maintenance skills as a Diesel Technician in Edwardsville, IL.
• Handle annual inspections.
• Complete troubleshooting and component replacements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform PMs, annual inspections and repairs on tractors and trailers.
• Complete express services like tire changes, brake adjustments and minor electrical repairs.
• Communicate status updates to internal customers.

Skills and qualifications:

• Technical degree in diesel technology or related field, or a minimum of one year of diesel technician experience.
• Computer systems experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

• Starting wages are $23.80 - $29.70 per hour based on experience.
  • Non-exempt U.S. shop associates working 50% or greater of the daily shift time between 3 p.m. and 5 a.m. local time, receive a $1.50 per hour differential for hours worked.
  • Non-exempt U.S. shop associates working weekend hours, receive an additional $0.65 per hour differential for hours worked. (Weekend hours worked between 9pm Friday - 5am Monday).
