In this energetic position, you will be responsible for posting payments, reconciling accounts, and managing billing processes that keep our practice running smoothly. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately post payments received from insurance companies, patients, and third- party payers into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Reconcile accounts by matching payments with corresponding claims, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
• Review Explanation of Benefits (E0Bs), remittance advice, and other payment documentation to verify accuracy before posting.
• Manage billing processes by generating and submitting claims using appropriate coding standards such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes.
• Ensure compliance with medical coding guidelines, including accurate application of ICD coding systems for diagnoses and procedures.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts, resubmitting claims as needed to secure payment.
• Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, payments, adjustments, and collections to support audit readiness.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing details and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems efficiently to streamline billing workflows and ensure data integrity.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding updates, and payer policies to ensure ongoing compliance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (ICD-9, ICD-1 0), and DRG(Diagnosis Related Group) systems.
• Proven experience in a medical office setting, particularly in roles involving payment posting or billing.
• Familiarity with medical collection processes and procedures is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems or similar software for managing patient accounts.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, insurance representatives, and team members.
• Strong analytical. skills for resolving discrepancies in payment postings.
