Position Summary
Zachry Construction Corporation is seeking a Heavy Construction Shop Mechanic to join our team in the Brazoria, TX area. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of recent construction field mechanic experience and the ability to work on Caterpillar, John Deere, Link-Belt, Manitowoc/Grove, Gomaco, and other major manufacturer equipment. What You'll Do
- Interpret parts and service manuals to properly diagnose repairs and order appropriate parts
- Maintain accurate records of all daily tasks and work performed
- Perform visual inspections on equipment and provide written reports of conditions and deficiencies
- Work safely and follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Produce clean, accurate, and high-quality work while maintaining a clean work area
- Demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and a positive attitude in all aspects of the job
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor

What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in the heavy equipment maintenance industry or an educational degree in diesel-related technical courses preferred
- Ability to work on Caterpillar, John Deere, Link-Belt, Manitowoc/Grove, Gomaco, and other major equipment manufacturer machinery
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for engines, transmissions/drivetrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, A/C, onboard computers, and electronic control modules
- Welding and fabricating experience a plus
- Computer skills a plus
- Must provide own hand tools (up to 1 ½” wrenches and sockets) and storage; larger tools provided by Zachry
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of following directions and working effectively in a team environment
- Strong awareness of safety-related issues and adherence to safe work practices
- Flexibility and willingness to work nights or weekends as needed
