About This Position

We are looking for a Massage Therapist who is passionate about the healing benefits of massage therapy and committed to helping others Feel Well. At The Westin Nashville, this role is centered on creating meaningful, personalized experiences that promote relaxation, restoration, and balance. You will provide thoughtful, customized massage treatments while fostering a calm, professional, and welcoming environment that supports each guest’s overall well-being.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform various massage techniques, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, and hot stone massage, with proficiency and adherence to established protocols.
  • Conduct thorough client consultations to understand their medical history, current conditions, and desired outcomes, and develop personalized treatment plans accordingly.
  • Assess clients' physical conditions, including posture, muscle imbalances, and range of motion, to identify areas of tension and develop effective treatment strategies.
  • Provide clients with clear explanations of the massage techniques being used, potential benefits, and any self-care recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including treatment notes, progress, and any contraindications.
  • Ensure the treatment rooms are clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies, maintaining a hygienic and professional environment.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
  • Uphold ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
  • Arrive punctually for appointments and manage time effectively to ensure all clients receive their full scheduled treatment.
  • Actively promote and educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and other services offered by [Spa/Wellness Center Name].

Other Tasks:

  • Assist with light cleaning duties in common areas as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Stay informed about new massage techniques and industry trends.
  • Assist with inventory management of massage supplies.
  • Handle client inquiries and scheduling as needed.
  • Potentially participate in marketing or promotional events.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited massage therapy program.
  • Valid and current state license to practice massage therapy in [State - e.g., Tennessee].
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move massage equipment as needed.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and strength to perform various massage techniques.
  • Ability to lift and carry massage tables and supplies (if necessary).
  • Visual acuity to observe client conditions and treatment areas.
