About This Position
Job Purpose:
The manufacturing engineer position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
Essential Functions:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods by utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling as well as production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment along with workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Coordinate implementation of ECO with production.
- Establish and maintain production routings.
- Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Interact with all areas of Management, Production employees, and Engineering.
- Develop and maintain work instructions for production lines.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Requirements:Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of production principles and techniques.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD, NX and Teamcenter software.
- Experience in SAP.
Required Education and Experience:
- BS Degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, quality, and management.
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes/procedures/tooling, product flow, and quality practices.
