Position Summary
The Jr. Sous Chef is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including effective leadership, excellent customer service skills and supervision of department requirements and standards.
This position will assist in managing the line and ensuring the flow of service is efficient and smooth. They will have the opportunity to learn skill sets such as mentoring staff and additional technical skills along with creating new dishes with the Chefs. Under the supervision and guidance of the Executive Chef, Jr. Sous will learn and refine their own mentoring style, understand and facilitate training, and discipline staff (line cooks, prep cooks, etc.).

We’re seeking hands-on chefs with private club or high-end hospitality experience who take pride in consistency, teamwork, and execution. The ideal candidate is passionate about their craft, dependable, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments with high standards. This role is for self-starters who work clean, fast, and uphold high standards across banquets and à la carte service.
Job Duties
- Ensure opening and or closing duties are met, complete walk through of kitchen checking low boys, walk-ins, sinks, lines, counter tops etc. are cleaned from the night before or before leaving the night after service.
- Doing a complete line check of each station before service to make sure all prep is completed and is done correctly.
- Be able to work all aspects of the kitchen efficiently.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.
- Monitor and ensure that standard kitchen operating procedures are met.
- Executing menu items from start to finish. This includes but not limited to preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking and plating of menu items.
- Working with the F&B Management team on menu creations and daily specials.
- Support staffing needs for BOH open positions.
- Maintaining cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
- Clean cooking stations and equipment to help expedite service

- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Assist with monthly end inventory.
- Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas.
- Ensure that each Member and guest receives outstanding service in a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
- Empowered to guarantee total Member satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our Members at all times, take pride in representing Crazy Mountain Ranch professionally with our Members and guests and assure that all transactions are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
- Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for team members, Members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all Crazy Mountain Ranch team members to foster and promote a positive working environment.

Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training or job-related course work.
- 5+ years’ experience as a Cook/Line Cook in a resort or club setting.
- Formal Culinary Training preferred.
- ServSafe Certification.
- Basic Microsoft Office
