Produce Team Lead at New Pioneer Food Co-op

Description: We have a great group of employees and customers at New Pioneer. We're hoping to find a team member who can communicate well, bring positivity to the team, and deliver outstanding service to our shoppers. The pace is quick, the food is delicious, and the staff discount is generous!What You'll Do

Support inventory and merchandising goals
Meet objectives for sales, labor costs, and service
Ensure that the department contributes to the financial best interest of the store
Develop and support procedures for ordering, receiving, pricing, and stocking for the department
Hire, train, develop, and schedule Produce Department personnel; develop, maintain, and be responsible for team performance standards
Uplift, encourage, mentor, and lead a dynamic team of individuals
Ensure adherence to New Pioneers’ customer service standards
Maintain a clear line of communication between all departments
Work closely with the Produce Coordinator, Store Team Lead, and Receiver on inventory standards, programs, sale cycles, and department resets
Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Store Team Lead and Assistant Store Team Lead

Computer literacy, experience with MS 365
Point-of-Sale experience
Ability to plan, develop, and implement systems to provide for efficient and productive operations
Commitment to work positively with others in a collaborative environment where teamwork and constant communication are essential
Experience in supervising/managing/ leading, hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating staff
Knowledge of organic, natural, and commercial produce practices, organic certification and sustainability standards.
Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments
Integrity, honesty, respect, inclusivity, flexibility, and dependability

Physical Requirements

Extensive standing
Bending, reaching, walking
Must have a high level of mobility/flexibility in the space provided
Must be able to carry food products weighing 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet regularly
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Exposure to heat, cold, and odors
Working in a retail grocery store and office environment

This position requires a committed schedule which may include opening, mid-shift, and closing, and requires weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis. Requirements:
