About This Position
Job Summary:
Assists the manager of the department in the day-to-day functions of directing, organizing, and planning to perform effectively functions assigned to the Health Information Management Department to include scanning, medical record analysis, transcription quality assurance, and release of information. Provides support and development opportunities for Health Information Management personnel. Assists with special projects and data gathering. Supports the Hospital's quality improvement program. Assists the medical staff in the maintenance of medical records, preparation and recording of Medical Records Committee proceedings, and retrieval of information, including statistical data. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor or Associate degree in Health Information Management preferred.
Work Experience:
Three to five years of experience in Health Information Management required. Must have a
working knowledge of medical record systems and experience with various computer software
environments including Windows, Microsoft Office, and other data analysis skills.

- RHIA/RHIT Certification
