This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale power and renewable energy projects, focusing on environmental permitting, compliance, and field support. You will work closely with technical teams, field staff, and project leadership to ensure projects meet regulatory standards while staying on schedule and budget. The position involves a blend of hands-on fieldwork, environmental analysis, and project coordination, with particular emphasis on wetlands and related permitting. Regular travel to project sites allows for direct impact on project success, while GIS and technical tools will support your work in mapping, documentation, and analysis. Accountabilities:- Support project management activities for utility-scale power and renewable energy projects.
- Participate in fieldwork, including wetland delineation, environmental monitoring, and construction support.
- Coordinate environmental permitting efforts, including state and federal wetland permits.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions during project execution.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams, field staff, and project leadership to keep projects on track.
- Assist with client communication, reporting, and issue tracking.
- Utilize GIS tools for mapping, environmental analysis, and documentation.
- Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring timely completion.
- Travel regularly to project sites, primarily near South Bend and surrounding areas.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting, utilities, power, or renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of wetlands, including delineation, monitoring, permitting, and construction support.
- Familiarity with state and/or federal environmental permitting processes.
- Proficiency with GIS tools (ArcGIS or similar) for analysis and mapping.
- Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel as required.
- Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting utility-scale power or renewable energy programs.
- Prior involvement in linear infrastructure or transmission projects.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and field crews.
