Summary:

As the Production Test Engineer II at North Atlantic Industries (NAI), you support the production and sustainment of high-reliability electronic power supply products by leading advanced testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise in electronics manufacturing, automated test systems, and environmental stress screening ensures product quality, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment.

Requirements:
  • Interface with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define and refine production test requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria for electronic assemblies and power supply systems.
  • Perform and oversee complex bench-level and automated testing, including ESS, vibration, thermal, and functional testing of electronic products.
  • Troubleshoot and debug electronic assemblies to the component level using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize automated test programs and production test procedures to improve efficiency, repeatability, and throughput.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations for product failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by participating in design reviews and ensuring testability of electronic hardware and power conversion systems
  • Integrate, qualify, and maintain production test equipment, fixtures, and data acquisition systems.
  • Generate detailed technical reports documenting test results, product performance, and failure analysis findings.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and cross-training across multiple product lines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield enhancement, cost reduction, and process optimization within the electronics manufacturing environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical discipline required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or production test engineering, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Strong knowledge of power supply design, power conversion topologies, and analog/digital circuitry.
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and test software development.
  • Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with environmental stress screening (ESS), vibration testing, and qualification standards common to high-reliability electronics.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), and must be able to provide appropriate documentation upon hire to verify this status. Please note that some positions involve sensitive customer contracts and require U.S. citizenship as a condition of employment.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with military and aerospace standards (MIL-STD, IPC standards).
  • Experience supporting regulated environments and ISO/AS quality systems.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills using data-driven methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a production-focused electronics environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings clearly.
  • Demonstrated initiative, leadership capability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
