POSITION PURPOSE
The Marketing Specialist supports the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to promote organizational goals and maintain brand consistency. They create and manage content across digital and traditional platforms, including social media, email, website, and print materials. The role includes conducting market research, analyzing campaign performance, and reporting on key metrics to optimize results. They also collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support promotions, events, and overall marketing initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Lead and own the Credit Union’s social media strategy, including annual planning, content strategy development, campaign execution, performance analysis, and ongoing optimization. Exercise independent judgment in platform selection, messaging direction, and engagement tactics aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies, including segmentation, automation, campaign planning, A/B testing, performance tracking, and continuous improvement. Independently determine campaign cadence, messaging approaches, and targeting strategies.
- Drive marketing analytics and reporting initiatives, analyzing campaign performance, member behavior data, and segmentation insights to inform strategic recommendations. Present data-driven insights and strategic adjustments to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Independently manage annual marketing processes including, but not limited to, social media strategy and reporting, email marketing campaigns, and the Member Newsletter.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Creative Manager to conceptualize and develop integrated campaigns and promotions, contributing strategic insight and creative direction.
- Oversee and prioritize Marketing E-Requests, branch requests, enhancement requests, and vendor/partner requests, exercising discretion in determining timelines, scope, and resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain the marketing department’s campaign calendar, proactively identifying opportunities to align marketing initiatives with organizational priorities.
- Write, review, and refine internal and external marketing communications to ensure brand consistency and strategic alignment.
- Oversee updates to the HFCU website, branch TVs, digital signage, and other communication channels, determining content priorities and messaging sequencing.
- Coordinate and direct photo/video shoots as needed for content initiatives; confidently represent the Credit Union in visual content when appropriate.
- Partner with branches to support community events, ensuring brand consistency and strategic messaging. Occasionally attend events outside of standard business hours as needed.
- Effectively utilize project management tools (e.g., Asana) to independently manage timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination.
- Embrace and apply HFCU’s Mission, Great Worthy Cause, and purpose to all activities, responsibilities, and communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors’ degree plus 3+ years’ experience in marketing; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of business development, marketing and good communication skills.
- This position requires that the employee gain a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and how they will affect their work. The employee will comply with all requirements of the BSA and cooperate with the designated BSA Officer in assuring compliance.
Experience:
- Experience using PC-software including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience using Adobe Creative Suites, WordPress, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to project a profession appearance in person and through written communication as well as a positive attitude at all times.
