SUMMARY
We are looking for an energetic and motivated Insurance Verification Specialist to support the operations of our multi-location dental practice by verifying insurance coverages, managing pre-authorizations, and overseeing ADA coding eligibility for patient procedures and treatment plans.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in dental setting, is able to work both independently and as a part of a team, and is comfortable with sensitively communicating patient financial responsibility based on available benefits. If this sounds like you... we'd love to hear from you!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verifying dental insurances, treatment planning and pre authorizations.
- Verifying insurance coverages for new patients or referrals, and updating information for existing patients if/when necessary.
- Calling insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations for recommended services and procedures.
- Overseeing ADA coding eligibility based on patients' insurance plans.
- Explaining financial responsibility to patients based on their dental benefits.
- Processing patient routers according to the patients’ insurance carriers.
- Assisting offices with questions regarding insurance benefits and frequencies.
- Multi-tasking with great attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication between patients, offices, staff members, and insurance companies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED certificate, required.
- Associates degree, or equivalent experience, required.
- Prior experience in a dental setting, required.
- Working knowledge of dental terms such as co-payments, in-network fees, benefit limitations, and percentage coverages and codes.
- Knowledge of CPT codes and basic medical terminology, preferred.
- Experience using Dentrix software is a strong plus.
- Knowledge in Microsoft applications and Adobe software.
- Team player, self-motivated, and thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, to take initiative, and to be resourceful.
- Possess good judgment with a willingness to accept responsibility.
- Willingness tolearn and train to improve your skills on a daily basis.
Work Environment:
- Busy, team-oriented multi-location dental office environment.
- Frequent use of phone and computer systems.
- Regular interaction with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff.
