About This Position

Foreman Purpose

Provide exceptional leadership and management skills for projects assigned in accordance with the Karber Corporation Mechanical procedures. To ensure safety, quality, timely completion, and profitability on each job while providing exceptional customer service to K Corp Contractors and affiliated vendors.

Foreman Job Duties

  • Safety First – Ensure a safe work environment all day every day.
  • Conduct Toolbox Topic every week and turn in Sign in Sheets every Monday to HR and superintendents.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the policies set forth in the K Corp Safety Manual.
  • Read chapter from the health and safety manual with your team weekly during the weekly safety meeting.
  • Manage PPE supplies for your site.
  • Identify and eliminate construction and job site hazards.
  • Quality – Ensure quality standards exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage and maintain QA/QC plan.
  • QA/QC plans to be filled out and updated for each work task.
  • Maintain and update installed quantity and labor tracking plan.
  • Planning - Plan your work and work your plan, coordinate, and supervise construction activities.
  • Participate in project turn over and change order – Zero. (When invited by the Superintendent.)
  • Maintain Daily Reports and all weekly/daily required paperwork.
  • Update weekly progress on Project Drawings.
  • Create and update 3 week look ahead weekly.
  • Maintain schedule and man loading projections.
  • Manage subcontractors working for K Corp monitoring schedule and quality.
  • Thoroughly review and understand scope documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Interface with all project team members as required in the establishment of project schedules.
  • Project Execution – Managing your project requirements.
  • Prepare accurate material take-offs and properly identify specified materials as per project plans, specifications, and approved submittals when applicable. (Complete all columns within the Material Requisition Sheet prior to submission to purchasing.)
  • Allow 3 – 5 days for procurement on all material requisitions.
  • Layout appropriate systems and make isometric and schematic sketches from blueprints, submittals, and job orders.
  • Understand ASME and ANSI Codes and Standards as they apply to project drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate placement and storage of materials, tools and supplies to support the construction plan, assist in maintaining assigned tool inventory.
  • Maintain equipment rental schedule.
  • Mentor trade personnel for professional development.
  • Daily / Weekly document control / Policy Adherence
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your Superintendent/Manger as needed.
  • Maintain all employee timekeeping including accurate hours as well as applicable cost coding.
  • Approve Paid Time Off (PTO) forms 3 weeks prior to time off request.
  • Adhere to the K Corp Vehicle Policy Agreement and required Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Interface with Superintendent to ensure all company, customer and project policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintain sign in sheets and turn in weekly.
  • Submit expense reports with receipts weekly.
  • Generate 3 week look ahead schedules and turn in weekly.
  • Fill out PTPs, review with crew and revise when task changes.
  • Fill out Daily Reports and include photos where applicable.
  • Perform weekly safety observations.
