About the Role:
The Safety Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across all company operations within the United States. This position is responsible for and maintaining comprehensive safety data in order to keep company compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. The Safety Administrator collaborates closely with management and employees to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety awareness. By monitoring safety performance metrics and investigating incidents, the role aims to reduce workplace accidents and enhance overall operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Safety Administrator will work with management to ensure that safety policies are effectively communicated and adhered to, fostering a secure workplace for all personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a safety-related role, preferably within an industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant federal, state, and local safety standards.
- Proficiency in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate safety information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with safety management software and data analysis tools.
- Experience using ISN and submitting documents and completing questionnaires to keep Peak compliant.
- Familiarity with emergency response planning and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and compliance documentation for internal review and regulatory inspections.
- Collaborate with management and employees to foster a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Monitor and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Skills:
The Safety Administrator utilizes their knowledge of regulatory standards and safety best practices daily to assist with safety programs. Organizational skills ensure that all safety documentation and compliance records are meticulously maintained and readily accessible. Additionally, problem-solving abilities are critical when investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
