The (Level II Nursery Nurse – Obstetrics, Nursery Nurse – Obstetrics, OR Neonatal Level 2 Nursery Nurse - Obstetrics) RN provides specialized, family centered nursing care to newborns requiring intermediate level care in a Level II Special Care Nursery and at delivery. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of infants who may need critical care stabilization through intermediate level care; providing respiratory support, IV therapy, phototherapy, treatment of infection post-delivery, thermoregulation, feeding support, and provides emotional support for parents.
The role requires critical thinking and strong clinical assessment skills along with the ability to respond promptly to changes in the newborns condition while collaborating with pediatricians and ancillary departments to ensure safe, evidence based care.
The Labor and Delivery Nurse – Obstetrics provides specialized, compassionate, equitable, and evidence-based nursing care to patients throughout the childbirth experience – from antepartum through delivery and postpartum recovery. The RN functions as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting mothers, infants, and families while promoting a safe, positive and family centered birthing environment.

This position is responsible for assessing patient/family health problems and resource, taking a leadership role in the development, implementation, and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care provided by the nursing team. The position provides direct nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations. This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including neonate through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.-
Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
