MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Salesforce Developer Principal, the work you'll do at GDIT will directly support the mission of our federal customer by delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions on the Salesforce platform. You will play a crucial role in architecting and implementing applications that streamline operations, enhance user experience, and ensure compliance with government standards.
  • Lead and Support: Serve as a technical lead for Salesforce development projects, guiding design decisions and ensuring best practices are followed to meet mission objectives.
  • Collaborate: Partner with business analysts, project managers, and cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into robust Salesforce solutions.
  • Drive Innovation: Lead efforts to optimize workflows, integrate third-party systems, and resolve technical challenges to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Utilize Advanced Tools: Apply expertise in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce APIs, and modern development tools to build and maintain enterprise-grade applications.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your engineering expertise and leadership skills to GDIT. The Salesforce Developer Principal must have:

Salesforce Development Expertise:
  • Advanced proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC) for custom development.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming) for integrations and data synchronization.

Platform Architecture & Security:
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce architecture, governor limits, and performance optimization.
  • Expertise in security models, including role hierarchy, sharing rules, and field-level security.
  • Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, Single Sign-On (SSO), and identity management solutions.

Data Management & Optimization:
  • Skilled in data modeling, schema design, and managing large datasets using Data Loader, SOQL, and SOSL.
  • Ability to design and implement data migration strategies and maintain data integrity across environments.

Salesforce Deployment & Tools:
  • Proficient in Salesforce deployment practices, including change sets, sandbox management, and release coordination.
  • Experience using Visual Studio Code for Salesforce development and source control.
  • Familiarity with Agentforce for AI-driven automation and Salesforce Data Cloud for advanced data integration and customer data management.

Additional Tools & Best Practices:
  • Knowledge of integration patterns (e.g., MuleSoft).
  • Strong understanding of unit testing frameworks and test coverage requirements in Salesforce.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance issues across complex implementations.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and public speaking skills
  • Ability to work independently on complex tasks which require analysis and action.
  • Ability to work well with staff members and user community, especially with senior business management staff
  • Ability to be highly productive, both working alone and in close collaboration within a team, able to multi-process and thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable, always engaging environment
  • Experience with any of the project delivery tools: JIRA, Confluence, Agile Accelerator, MS Project 2016, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Planner
  • Take ownership of project work and developing client relationships (should be a confident self-starter)
  • Must be a US Persons
  • Role Requirements: Ability to lead technical teams, mentor junior developers, and ensure compliance with federal security standards; may require occasional on-site support.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or related work experience (4+ years).
  • Certifications: Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I, Salesforce Platform App Builder, Salesforce JavaScript Developer I must has at least one to be considered.
  • Experience:
    • 1+ years of Salesforce development experience, including custom coding and integrations.
    • Prior experience in government or regulated environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with MuleSoft, Tableau CRM, or AWS integrations.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices for Salesforce.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
